During my junior high school years there was a good portion of time where all I read were africn american novels. African American novels started my inspiration for writing and creating content on diffrent platforms. The Book Addicted by Zane (2001) happened to be one of th emost intriguing books that I had read to date. Addicted was the first of its kind to expose african american women committing adultry and opened up sex addiction dialouge in the urban community. Although at a young teenager age I didnt quite comprehend all things of the story I did recognize amazing storytelling and exquiste writing. Now the the risque novel has been transformed into a feature film directed by Billie Woodruff , starring Sharon Leal ,Boris Kodjoe,Tasha Smith ,Tyson Beckford , Kat Graham and William Levy. The Film will be released October 10th in theaters but I will have the chance to view this film this weekend at the Urban World Film Fest in NYC.
For successful African-American businesswoman Zoe Reynard, finding the pleasure she wants, the way she wants it, is not worth the risk of losing everything she has: marriage to the man she has loved since childhood, a thriving company, three wonderful children. But Zoe feels helpless in the grip of an overpowering addiction…to sex.
