The Gabby Douglas Story Lifetime Movie kicks off Black History Month!

As Black history month approaches often times we celebrate heroes and heroines from the past or an older role model but this year we are kicking off the celebratory month with a young olympic star Gabby Douglas! Gabby won a gold medal for gymnastics in 2011. Douglas is the first woman of color and the first African-American gymnast in Olympic history to become the individual all-around champion.Being such a pioneer at a young age clearly had to be a difficult road full of struggles yet still triumphant  this is what makes her story! We will all watch the movie Saturday Feb 1st  2014 8pm on lifetime just one night before the biggest night in sports “Superbowl”. Regina king will play Gabby douglas mother ,Brian Tee will play her dream coach and finally two young actresses Imani Hakim, Sydney Mikayla play Gabby at different ages. I am super excited to see the movie and proud of all that she has accomplished.Check out the trailer below!
