So Ultimate:The Ultimate Trunk Show

So After 2 years of missing The Ultimate Trunk Show due to scheduling I finally made it Last Saturday to the Winter Edition of the Bi-Annual Event located in Nyc! First off I was in love with the event from the venue space,The Altman Building ,on 18th street. This building has been used for many fashion and art events for many years and is a true gem.

“The Ultimate Trunk Show started in my Brooklyn apartment back in 2009.  I’m truly blessed to see where it has started and where it is today.  I sometimes step back and I’m in shock.   How did I get here?  We started with 5 vendors in my apartment to over 40 brands today in a 10,000 sq ft venue in NYC.  It originally started as an annual event and later a bi annual event.  Where do I see it going in the future?  Every major city across the US.  Then after that, global ” says Latoya Gordon ,Founder.

UTS (Ultimate Trunk Show) Winter 2013 was filled with fashion forward shoppers and vendors/designers. Latoya Gordon, Founder and Creative Director did an amazing job from top to bottom. I spotted sponsors such  Hennessy, Square and Pretzel chips  there ,DJ on both floors of the venue and over 30 vendors. I especially thoroughly  enjoyed the Hair demos,Complimentary manicure /make up consultations  and messages at this event.

I caught up with the lady of the hour and what she had to say about her project from conception to the future. Latoya said ” The Ultimate Trunk Show is my love for emerging brands and boutiques.  I have a circle of friends who all have their own clothing lines, jewelry lines, make up, etc.  I wanted to create a platform for them to be recognized for their talents.  Introduce them to an audience that would have not known of them unless it was for this outlet, The Ultimate Trunk Show”.

After circling the event and mingling through over 40 amazing vendors  found a few vendors that were my FAVS! I wondered how did they find all these cool vendors  Latoya told me ” My team and I typically use social media mainly to scout for brands as well as other events.  Its a blessing to now be at the point where brands seeking us”.  Check these Cool and Creative Brands below.

Latoya has High confidence for an even bigger event for The Ultimate Trunk Show Spring and Winter 2014, continue to grow her networking group that is an extension from UTS, launching a brand consulting and development project with emerging brands and taking Heirport Apparel, a brand that she’s  an adviser for to the next level!  Good luck to her and her awesome event in future! I will definitely be in attendance and possible vendor for the Spring 2014 UTS.
